Burnt Toast


Today I am burnt toast.

At one point, I was a lovely slice of bread.

Then I decided I needed to cook a little longer.

I was a wonderful, crisp-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside piece of toast.

I never jumped out.

And now I am burnt.

I am burnt toast.
